A cardboard box, some crumbled up wrapping paper, plastic bottle and a can are better and much cheaper.
Or being a good adult and actually...parenting instead of letting an iPad do it for you.

No way. Going from awesome screen viewable at any viewing angle to crappy 3d screen viewable only when perfectly parallel? Nope.
Unless they have some awesome new glasses free tech that no one else n
Knows about I can't see this happening.

Well, yes. That's a point that's been repeated, and replied to, ad nauseum.
One more time:
Remaking Flash 10 for more efficient mobile use is exactly what Adobe is trying to do, with the help of ARM designers.
If it runs well, full Flash could become popular on mobiles* as a universal application development and delivery platform. If it doesn't run well, it'll have to wait until cpus get faster.
* With the probable early exception of the iPhone.
Yes but so far the few phones that have had the full version of flash on them like htc reviewers have savaged.

Well Apple certainly got more sensational coverage over their recall. Hence the Apple haters in my life barraging me with BS.
I have gotten a little bit of this as well today.
I just remind those individuals that Apple does not make batteries. Then I tell them where Apple gets their batteries from (i.e. Sony) then people usually are quiet after that. :)

iStat nano widget
I have a question; I run istat nano widget, but have never gotten the temperature readout to work (everything else works fine). Is there something I need to do/can do to get it to register, or does this mean something is messed up on my computer?

Exactly why it wouldnt happen, cause Apple doesn't want to give people choice at one price point. Its either desktop or portable.... pick ur price... and low beho thats the mac for you. Period. No disputing the great Oracles at Cupertino.
Yeah, and that's a great thing for the consumer... Apple will tell you what you need and you'll buy it and like it dammit...

A child does not naturally grow up to be socially responsible or kind. They naturally grow up to be self-centered and violent unless a parent or authority teaches them otherwise.
As negative as I think religion can be, it has set a code of conduct for people that enables cooperation and empathy for others. Although we don't need religion to teach people morals, we need some agreed upon code of conduct.
You might say that the laws of a country serve that purpose, but they don't. They are simply rules everyone must follow and any despotic ruler can set awful laws that can hurt people. Therefore, the code of conduct has to be separate from the law.
If atheism has any future, its needs some type of unified, agreed upon code.

300-600 mb over the air?
They'd have to change the updates to be actual updates, rather than the "install the entire OS again" approach we have now.

Because the forum software has trouble with threads over 2000 posts, so ongoing threads get split into new parts around that point.
vBulletin has a problem with any kind of large database, too. It is very annoying.
I think they've pretty much fired all of Jelsoft, too, so getting things fixed with them is nigh on impossible. First you have to get them to understand what the devil you're talking about, then you have to threaten to show up at their headquarters before anything happens.
It is very annoying, indeed.

I was talking about the new ones aswell  the refurb shop also sells stock they want to get rid of and that includes old macbooks.
How do you know that you are going to get a new one and not a refurbished one. And what old macbooks are you talking about, they didnt release any new ones yet. Thanks for the help.

IRONIC as facebook could clearly benefit themselves on a more strict app approval system. There's so much spam on there these days. People's accounts getting hacked, sending messages with trojan links to everyone.
And the iPhone app itself pretty much sucks anyway so a new developer would be a good thing

Does anyone have any ideas?

This is complete bullcrap, people. Over the air updates will come, but over WiFi. Doing this over 3G makes no sense.
DROIDs already do all updates over 3G and VZW likes it that way.
So if VZW is involved they will opt for updates over 3G
This may mean that VZW will be keeping unlimited data on the iphone, and may have changed their minds about ending unlimited data when it comes to the iphone. I think VZW has noticed that having unlimited data makes them more attractive when competing against ATT+T-mobile merger super company.
Is that why AT&T sold a lot more iPhones that vz last quarter?
Also vz just wants you to go over your cap. More money for them

8 megapixels eh? All we need now are interchangeable lenses and a nice iBag to carry them in. I too subscribe to the megapixel myth but bring it on anyway!! :)

THAT is exactly what Im talking about. All you people bitch and complain about new things/developments that Apple might be working on (and later announce) and at first you all hate it. Then you get used to it, and then one day you find you love it. I hope the iPhone does come out and you all hate it and it becomes a phenomenal success....the same case the iPod once faced. Same with the new names (MacBook). Same with the switch to Intel (now look how lucky we are). Same with the Intel integrated graphi...well...no one likes those actually, but my point is stop thinking you're going to hate it because you're most likely going to end up getting it anyway.
So true!
That's why Steve probably never wasted his time reading forums because in the end MOST people just love to hate and whine. With some exceptions of good posts, I usually just see people expecting crazy products and then getting disappointed at the end of every keynote or special event.

I think Spanish is the world's 2nd-most spoken language.
It's the fourth most behind Mandarin, English, and Hindi.

Low end iMac starts at $1549 here in Australia, no further details as the rest hasn't been updated.
The current top model mini is $1249 - looks a bit iffy considering the iMac is faster and has a decent screen as well, $300 doesn't buy a Core 2 Duo and a 17" widescreen, mind you, you lose the Superdrive, bluetooth and the remote...
A top end mini and a $300 LCD is probably better value but I have yet to see the price of the 17" dedicated graphics model.

I do some third-party writing for Sony. I'm so sick of writing about how beautiful and elegantly designed their products are. They aren't. They always look like what a 5-year-old would draw if you told him to imagine product X. Oh, and we'll put a cool blue light here! ...and a neat racing stripe here! ... and a really cool airfoil (who care's if it's a notebook computer?) here!
Tacky, gaudy. Ugh. Their desktop VAIO makes me want to puke.
In any case, an Apple eBook reader would probably be done right, but as it's been said in this thread, there has to be a BIG, non-glare screen in order for it to be of any use.
