One more technique, I have used.... give your friend $10 or $20 in cash & ask him to go online and contribute an amount by adding some money to your cash contribution...

my answer to Q 16 was C9 and the instructions said that for C9, send it to NSC for applicants living in CA. Hope this is correct!
Read the instructions again. It says Phoenix, AZ
Anyway, donot worry much -As per new instructions it will come back to you with a note to mail it to the correct address. Wish they could just forward to AZ

USCIS passed a rule that it will start giving 2 years EAD. Inspite of that, several people last year got 1 year EADs or worse, they would get EAD starts dates 2 to 3 months before the expiry of the first EAD just because they applied early..... basically they got a EAD for only 9 months!
I may be wrong, but I had different impression. If officer felt that GC can be given in one year they issued 1 year EAD, other wise 2 years EAD. When I got 2 years EAD, I was not happy about it.
But several things go wrong and people might not have got GC despite getting 1 year EAD. I feel that people getting 1 year EAD must have every thing ready, just waiting for their Visa Number.

I am starting my employment based GC process. My employer is going to file for my labour certificate (LC) thru PERM soon.
However, I want to know what happens if you Labour Application is not approved by USCIS?
like - Can you then apply for Labour thru another employer? or start ur Green Card process thru another employer.
- Can you get H1 extension after 6 year period is complete?

No. Last year we had an RFE as my wife's medicals were missing a signature. As Pappu mentioned in another thread most of them were pre approved and were waiting on visa numbers I think.

This is true. I heared the same from my attorney too. If you look at the history, there are two times they have discontinued the VB in the middle of the month. So let us hope the best and we will prepare for the worst.

The USCIS will send you a summons for your fingerprints. You will have to go to wherever they mandate. The fingerprints only have a fifteen month validity.

I think Kerry(i think it is actually Kennedy E who introduced it - SA180 , SA 187 did not have anyhting to do with us it was for Women centers) di dnot have any good intentions for us in troducing this.If you see on Thomas(or congress.gov and search for HR2, see the fourth version, and check out amendments), SA180 was amendment to SA143 (this is by our friend Jeff Sessions). So most probably it was part of politics. Also this status says both these amendments wer eintroduced in Senate but thats it, they did not pass.

Like I said you can start at the same pace as you normally walk from your car to your office. Do that for 20 mins or 30 minutes this week and we will increase the pace very slowly and add a few minutes each day. Also always listen to your body and do what your body can. it is very important to respect our body's limitations. I have learnt that the hard way

we sent EAD renewal application thru attorney on March 16th 2010, it was delivered but didn't receive any update/ USCIS didn't withdraw the fee also till now...lot of delay it seems this year.

I applied for my wife EAD renewal on May 3, 2010 at Dalls Lock Box Office, following is the message i got from USCIS today:
Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number
WAC12345678901223. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit USCIS Home Page (http://www.uscis.gov) where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.
I live in NY and I am not sure why they transferred it to California. My original I-485 receipt is from california, may be thats why, not sure !!!!!!

Correct. There maybe many such people. And we see it as our failure too. Because as a community we have not raised enough awareness about us. Some people maybe seeing us just a forum and lot more outreach work is needed by our active members. Each one of us should contact our friends and tell them about IV. New members on IV should get answers to their questions as well as information about related advocacy work done by IV politely urging them to help out. Other websites and forums should also help raise awareness about what we do so that the community understand that what we do is for the benefit of the community and it is a community effort.
