Nope. Probably not even close. The Air doesn't have the processors or graphics required for even the current version
1GB of RAM, 2GB recommended, 4GB for uncompressed HD.
ATI or Nvidia graphics processor.
http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs/
Maxed out Air matches that, hell, low end Air matches that. I'm not saying it will be fast, because it will be deathly slow. But it'll run.

If it hooked up to a wiki with the old wireless and allowed approved paid contributors/users to edit and add entries from the magippear keyless keyboard, it would truly become the essential traveller's instructional companion. Pop it in a sock, because you should always know where your sock is. Yes, it's a hitch-hiker's guide, no less...

Someday, I hope, Apple will release another 12" laptop- prefereably an MBP. I don't think I will buy another computer until then- I love my 1.33 12" PB!
I hear ya. I'm using the same machine and want a replacement. That replacement machine doesn't exist (yet).
Apple has access to all those lovely ULV C2Ds for a start. They would make an excellent basis for a sleek new Macbook Nano for example.

those sites are all run by MS.
the screen? same res as the iPod, so it will look crappy as the pixels will be stretched to fit the screen.
Yep, that "comparison" seems very suspicious indeed... Just look at how they compare, in size, a 30GB Zune with a 60/80GB iPod! The 30GB iPod is that much thinner compared to its bigger sibling, let alone to the über-fat Zune...
And the screen resolution is cr*ap, for a screen with that size... I'm also figuring that since the display is probably a conventional horizontal display rotated in portrait mode, when you use the player, the colours each eye sees will be different, due to the vertical viewing angle, which is generally much smaller than the horizontal; and on the Zune, these will be reversed and will screw our stereoscopic vision, thus causing a lot of eyestrain... Just use a Sansa (which has the same display orientation) for more than five minutes and you'll know what I'm talking about

I am waiting for 5pt. to come in here and start complaining about growth of government, class war, socialism etc...
It will be proof that it is not about the debt, but purely about ideology.

I would definitely prefer a Fall iPhone 5 release if it had LTE.
As for the voice command thing - I don't really care. It's not like it takes that long to press an icon, although it might help some in the cold wiinter when I have gloves on.

It's neither a math game nor marketing ploy.
Apple is not artificially limiting the number of attendees. It's a facilities issue. They are at maximum capacity for this venue. It's not like they can simply print out 5000 more badges. The fire marshal would shut the place down.
That's why local television coverage of professional sports have their blackouts lifted after a sellout. Not everyone who wants to watch can fit in the stadium/arena.
Thank you for being cool, calm, and logical in your reply. I just had to give you a gold clap for replying the way you did instead of raging like a fanboy.

I have 3 USB 1 ports and 2 FireWire ports. Does that mean if I buy a new 8Gb Nano, it won't work with my system? :(
Your iMacG5 doesn't have USB 2 ports? As far as I know, ALL iMac G5s had USB 2 ports...even previous iBook G4s had that already...I think you're mistaken, sorry.

I don't know, citizenzen. Tell me: would it have helped the United States to have some country intervene the outcome in our civil war?
At the moment, I'm more interested if Piano's military intervention criteria apply to the Republic of Congo.
Look at the Civil Wars in America and in England. There were no air threats then. I feel that is the difference. As long as Gaddafi has bombers and fighters at his disposal, he has an unfair advantage against the rebels. But hey, let's all agree with Rand Paul and let Gaddafi flatten his country and kill his people right on Europe's doorstep.

Mac OS X 11.0? Seriously?
You mean Mac OS XI?
Maybe there's room for an X-11 pun in Apple's naming scheme say if the 1s were index fingers, indicating a unix touch interface.
And yes, I'd love a touch interface for X.7 and don't care about names. Not being able to touch the screen is bordering on frustrating nowadays. I'd still be happy for an optional keyboard (typing, key command shortcuts, I use them all the time), but moving stuff with a mouse is just inefficient now.
I can see value in tossing out legacy OS X code for 'new' iOS code and making a clean-start for the next Mac operating system, like OS X was for OS 9.
Given Apple's success getting Mac OS developers to move to native OS X, you'd have to wonder what the success rate would be moving to an entirely new touch OS. It's not that developers are slow, as much as 'the majority' of customers are even slower, so there's no incentive for developers.
However, if you sell it as a new line of products, that's a discontinuity that might be perceived as 'new growth' instead of an upgrade/backward compatibility nightmare. You know how managers and stock analysts just love 'new growth areas' and tech sites just love 'new and shiny'.
Might be another genius move by Steve Jobs to solve the age old problem of backward compatibility. Just start a new product line! I guess we'll find out in less than 60 days now (if the rumours are correct).
Can't wait.
P.S. Touch iMacs and MacBooks would have to be wedge shaped, higher at the back for better viewing angle. That stand thingy is the right idea, just think outside the box a little morethe cooling would probably run left-right, not up as iMacs run now.

I keep seeing posters state that the rep of Apple will be hurt (some say long term, others say short term) and I still have not actually seen a reason for this
Of course, I agree that Radioshack is a bit of a low-type choice for Apple but at the end of the day, why exactly would ANYONE look at Apple even slightly more different?
I mean, if BestBuy and others are selling and the rep has not taken a hit, I find it hard to believe that Apple is somehow in danger rep-wise with Radioshack.

If this is anything like the iPhone 4 sales.. there will be very limited stock on hand....Well at least in the stores around my area. Good news for those who want one. Might be able to score one via Radio Shack!

Without being too argumentative, the problem is people want a specific device and unlimited data. You can get unlimited data in a number of ways - just not necessarily with a specific device.
Actually, subscription makes sense when you consider:
a) You have the latest version at a known fixed cost
b) As a lease, rather than buy, it becomes tax deductible in full with no depreciation
c) If you only use some apps infrequently, it may be cheaper than a full suite
So it may make sense for some companies and or individuals.
You don't sound argumentative at all, and in fact you make sense. I never considered the device specific data plans that do and do not have caps.
The subscription model is nice for those reasons you mention, and I do see a lot of high end Adobe shops buying into it. It does make sense for them. The small time freelancer is going to be a tough call IMHO.
I have been looking to see how Adobe will handle the initial software distribution, e.g. do I have to plunk down $xxx.xx amount of money to get the software, then pay $35 a month or whatever for the license? Haven't found anything yet.

makes sense that they upgrade the 15 and 17 and not the 13, the 13 inch is pretty good as it is, they just need to upgrade the hard drives to 250 and 320gb and the 15 and 17 inch should reach 1TB
WHAT !?!? Are you kidding me ?!? Do you really consider increasing the hard disk capacity as an official "upgrade" ?
Core 2 Duo is an outdated technology !! Accept this fact already !!

Maybe Apple's improving - the last two PBs I owned had their MOTHERBOARDs recalled. Now its just my battery.
Yep, I'm affected - web site was slow but accepted my serial, confirmed my recall status, and then asked me for my address.
I have a PBG4 15" 1.67ghz (SD 01/2006 model) purchased 10/06 as a refurb.
I don't think this will hurt Apple, but it will hurt Sony big time.

If I go to the Australian Apple Store the delivery time for a Black MacBook is 3-5 days.
If I go to configure and upgrade it to 1Gb RAM the delivery time falls to 2-4 days!!!
Explain that to me all you rumo(u)r experts:confused:
Don't know, but assuming you ordered that and the BlackBook was upgraded before dispatch, you would possibly get 2GB for the same price, or the option to go down to standard 1GB config and money back. That's assuming Apple sees sense and ups it to 1GB as well as C2D.
