I got a letter from Cong Tom Price (Rep- GA) saying that the immigration clauses in the Budget Reconciliation Bill did not make it. But he will try to push for those clauses in the immigration bills in 2006.
I got the same message from his DC staff, when I called to follow-up.

I just contacted my senator's local office .working on the letters now .Thanks IV for coming up with this wonderful initiative..I hope our community gathers around and works together to make this a success , please put bickering and cynicism to rest for sometime and work pro actively on this new IV action item..

I think this is much easier for hundreds of people to participate as its easy, doesent take up too much time etc. and brings about our points across as compared to DC rally (please dont get me wrong here it was great but difficult for lot of people to attend because of various reasons). THe reason USCIS is showing low numbers for the reason that , no one will then raise the question for recpature. Looking at the numbers they will say, O, the numbers are so low, whats the need for recapture and we will be left hanging cold and dry.

We are running a small funding drive as a gesture of support IV for answering each other's questions in times of need.
If your question is answered by a fellow member, do make a point to contribute some amount. It will help continue this effort.
We understand everyone is busy with I485 filing and have put everything on hold. But we have not put our efforts on hold in the interest of this communty and this cause. Core is working on this issue despite being busy on their own I485 filing.
We are also working with our lobbyists on CIR and as soon as there is an action item we will post it on the forum for all to participate.
At this time, do take out a couple of minutes off your busy schedule with I485 filing and contribute towards Immigrationvoice.

Clearly the USCIS and the DOS have absolutely no clue as to how to manage the visa regime.
On top of that these smart asses think they are answerable to none - since this is just a matter of 'to be' immigrants.
Now the class action suit proposed by AILF will surely shock them from their oblivion and bring them down to REAL world.
All said and done...anyway the gates will open in Oct 2007 !!! Guys and Gals...go enjoy your week end !!!

If indeed thousands of people apply on the second, the numbers will become U on the 3rd. I still think if your applications gets in on the 2nd, you will squeeze in..

USCIS has to work in FIFO process not RIRO(Random In Random Out)... So they can't send Receipt Notice to Aug 17th filer and then look for July 2nd filer. I sent my concern to congressmen?

I fully agree that USCIS should work FIFO, but "should" does not make that happen. Clearly USCIS is not equipped for FIFI when truck loads of applications arrive. We may complain now, but I believe we should give them additional 10 days they need (to make it 90 days). I am equally worried about my July 2 filing. Nevertheless, I wish and hope the congressman's intervention helps.

This is a real problem. I got a letter from a prospective employer, who wanted proof that I was legally eligible to work in the US (alongwith transcripts, previous employment letters etc.) prior to scheduling an interview.:cool:
I believe employers are seeing a lot of candidates on EAD, and for whatever reasons they dont think EAD is good enough and would like to weed those candidates out beforehand.
We need to fight back against this discrimination.:mad:

Mine was signed by J. Barrett on July 2nd @ 10:25 AM and got no update so far.
Tried calling USCIS they don't answer properly.
Lawyers saying can't do anything but wait and watch.
