Eweek.com reports that H-1B recruiting firms have filed suit against USCIS, DHS over changes to the H-1B presumably related to the Neufeld Memo. *The companies indicate that the government is overstepping its mandate and burdening these specialists with an intrusive and costly ruling that they estimate will cost more than $100 million.

I'm sure the lawyers have already told you that this is not possible. The company cannot refile PERM now because all the ads, posting, etc are too old. They would have to start again.

Nice shot, Freddy.
But clearly NOT "the end of the world".... I can see mountains off in the distance, on the left.
Time to climb another mountain....

Daily Kos and Talking Points Memo each link to my post from Friday. Zackary Roth at TCM also checked with additional immigration lawyers in South Carolina who had similar reports to the ones with whom I spoke. And not to stray too far from the more important question, my friend Marshall Fitz at the Center for American Progress has a new piece refuting the lie that illegally present immigrants are covered by health care reform proposals.

Our friendly anti Jack has provided in the comments a couple of links to an intriguing story regarding Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele (currently embroiled in another scandal - this time involving strippers and GOP money - oy!). Steele has been one of the moderate voices in the GOP when it comes to immigration reform in the past and apparently he met with a pro-reform group called the Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM). Accounts differ regarding whether Steele promised to work for immigration reform and, more specifically, help round up a second GOP Senator to sponsor the reform bill...

One of my friend got their Fingerprinting letter and the last name is misspelled. What should they do go ahead and take it to the FP office or call USCIS and get it corrected.
Anyone in similar sitaution? Please advise.
hi,
they can call uscis on 800-375-5283 and tell them that there is a typo in the fp notice and get corrected.

Hey folks who signed up for advocacy days: I am so proud of you! You signed up for the good of all of us. I heard some of you are not confirming your participation. This cannot be an option at this point!
After all the effort IV has put in in securing the appointments, I, V, We all are counting on you. You had the best intentions when you signed up and we appreciate that, now we need you to finish grad school without being a drop out.
Many hundreds of hours have gone into organizing this event and not having folks at a meeting that has been confirmed is bad PR for IV and disappointing, sad and frustrating for the people who have been working tirelessly. Can't have it, can't tolerate it. You guys must follow through on your commitment!!!!
PM me if you have some pressing issue and maybe we can muster up some help to pull you through..

If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283". I am applying for my family and I but my 3 year old sons update is RFE??? I havent received the letter yet but I was wondering if anyone else found themselves in this situation and if so what was the outcome?

For what it's worth, I was a Nikon pro card carrier back in the '70's. It was a FABULOUS service. I was allowed to borrow expensive gear for free that I would never have used otherwise (e.g. radio-remote release, medical telephoto with built-in ring flash, nikonos)
And the "go the head of the line" repair service saved me more than once. While I was vacationing in California I needed some urgent repairs and was told by the local main Nikon repair shop that their backlog even for "urgent" repairs was 3 months. I flashed my pro card and it was in the repair shop by 10:00 and out by noon!
