Do not panic. I have a very good experience with CGI Houston. So far I renewed four passports at different times. They take minimum six weeks to process the passports issued in India. The latest one I sent was reached them on September 24th and I got renewed passport on Nov 9th.

Hi Friends,
Please share your thoughts and sugessions. I sent EAD Renewal application on 1st April reached by 2nd april 9 AM. Still no check cashed or got the rcpt. notice.
Here are my questions
1) I made travel plans on May 14th to visist India will I get my EAD by then?
2) I have a valid EAD tilll July29th 2010. What happens if i leave before my EAD approved.
I am really tensed can yopu guys have any ideas?

Well I really think this is reasonable suggestion to factor Priority Date to determine eligibility for citizenship. It could be 5 or 10 years past your priority and only after approval of green card. Currently many people wait for 8 to 10 years for green card and another 5 years to be eligible for citizenship and some lucky ones get green card in 2 to 3 years and citizenship in another 5 years. System should somehow be balanced to have close to uniform wait times towards citizenship for all.
Valid point. what ever it is, if you live in this country as a legal immigrant or non-immigrant for 10 years and paid taxes continuously for 10 years, automatically it should lead to Citizenship.

Hopefully you'll get your PERM approved well before that. As soon as you get your PERM approved, make sure you file for your 140 under premium processing. IMHO, it's well worth the $1000 extra.

Some legislative action is expected in Feb. Money will be needed immediately. I don't think $20/month is the answer.

House Speaker Dennis Hastert is backing away from statements made earlier this week suggesting a plan to hold hearings on the Senate�s version of the immigration reform bill.
According to Congressional Quarterly, Hastert says he'll look at that issue, but the first priority is spreading the leadership's message about the Iraq war. Hastert has said he wants to take a long look at the Senate's legislation before naming House conferees.
There are some big differences the conference committee will have to reconcile. The Senate's bill provides a pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants already in the country, and includes a guest-worker program. Neither is included in the House version, which focuses on tightening border security.

The above are my case updates. I just wanted to check one more thing. When i got my FP request the center on it was MSC. Has the same happened with anyone else.
The last LUD i had on my e-filed EAD was 6/5.

To all EB3 members whose PD is current:
Monday is the last day. If you don't get your GC approved, you got to wait for at least 7/8 months before they start moving dates forward. Beginning of each fiscal year, the dates are generally very conservative.
And for ROW EB3, if the bill passes to eliminate country quota, you will be getting your GC in not less than 5 years from now which you could have get it if your f**ing attorney/company would have file it 7 days earlier! Big time screwed! I am one of them!

... there was a time when it used to be horizontal spillovers. i.e. remaining EB3 from other countries used to go to EB3 I/C/M, and remaining EBx from other countries used to go to EBx I/C/M. (same level to same level)
At that time EB3 I used to get around ~15K-20K, from other countries. Then all of a sudden USCIS started vertical spillover, i.e. any remaining numbers from other countries no matter what EBx, will go to EB1 I/C/M and then fall to EB2 I/C/M and then to EB3 I/C/M.
This way EB3-I gets nothing as everything is consumed at EB2-I level.
If there is a way to get USCIS to start horizontal spillover again, then things can get OK, as USCIS does not need any law change, or any legislation change for this policy.
How can we confirm the spillover interpretation. I am not familiar with the spillover rules but my understanding was that only if there in an excess in EB2 then the spillover gets down to EB3. Am I wrong or as per rules should spillover be distribued equally? If it has to be distributed equally then we need to do a mass mail or something and ask USCIS to explain. I am writing to the local congressmen, to request USCIS to apply the spillover visas to EB cases with older priority date first (irrespective of it's category or country). I hope this will help, if lot of these local congressmen/women contact USCIS to handle this spillover in a fair manner, allocating to older priority date cases first irrespective of category or country. All EB3 folks please take some time and do the same writing to your congressmen about this issue.

There are some docs who are working Overtime and charging $50 or $100 more for Immigration appt ... you might have to dorive down a little bit.
Try to find a Desi doctor - they can do the Imm check up right now if you pay them more and request.
The doc i did was charging $50 more for special evening Immg appts - luckily i took appt On June 15th before the rush started and saved some dollars.
Wish the statement from your attorney is true and we all will be able to file 485 through the month of July with no issue. I'm luckly to get the paper work done and ship the package to Attorney and waiting on their action, But have few friends who could get Medical Appointment only around second/third week of July. Also this EW Other Worker Quota that became unavailable and also rejection of these applications has made us worry a lot, although it is a diffferent category we are at fear that this could happen to us. Reading the VB again, the reduction in the EW annual limit to 5,000 began in Fiscal Year 2002... So this category has only 5000 Visas and I'm not surprised this bacame unavailable and think this category is far more crowded than others... We should be fine atleast in July... May be too optimistic... but nothing wrong in hoping for the best and wish all the members can file asap.

I am on OPT expiring soon.. My employer filed for H1 and got approved for oct 1st. I will be out of status for sometime so I plan to go on H4( I am married) . Now one lawyer told me that If I apply for H4 my H1 approval will become invalid and I will have to reapply for H1. i.e if I do not have I 94 attached to the approval ( however I just got approval notification . no documents received yet , so no way to know if i have I 94 attached) Another Lawyer said thats not the case. He said I can go on H4 with a validity till

Have you tried Infopass.
If not you should schedule an appointment and try to find out what is going on. Also, see what else can be done to get your EAD approved.

Guys,
I applied my EAD Renewal on April 5th. I have receipt with me but my EAD is not approved. Right now I don't have any other option other then EAD. I am little bit worried. Please let me if anyone on the same board. as well pls let me know and what are my options. EAD is going expire on end of July.
