Hello,
The new fee structure goes into effect Aug 17.
I vaguely remember reading an anecdote that there is no need to pay yearly renewal fees in the new fee structure. (Am I right?) Please share your views.
Are there any advantages to filing per new fees?

what is new about what is being said in this article? We all know that bill is unlikely this year. Bush does not have a control over what happens in Congress. So anything he says is an expression of opinion. Besides, that opinion is the opinion of everyone who understands the circumstances. This article is a month old and the analysis is even older, please post something new next time.

If an LCA is filed before July 2010 which is a 365 day point I will be allowed to extend my H1 for another 3 years while my Green Card is in process.
Not true! In the above scenario you will only be permitted to extend your H1 in yearly increment. To get a three-year extension you must have an approved I-140 Immigrant Petition for an Alien Worker.

I heard from some source that non citizens cannot donate blood... if this is not true then count me in ....

Recently my company got acquired by another company. Co A had filed for my LC, and was approved in Feb 09, and my i140 was filed in EB3 in Sept 09. Co B wants to keep me, and I will continue the same job. My H1 has also been transferred to Co B. My question is:
will there be any effect on my LC and I140? If so, what happens to my PD (Nov 08)

I don't get it - how can USCIS take a sample of 250 people out of the 65000 visas alotted and say that 21 % of them were fraud ( 13% totally and 8 % technically ) . Its like taking only the fraud cases out of thousands and then saying that there is 100% fraud. I bet the fraud cases are not as high as 20% that the author and USCIS say.
It is sad to see that although we H1b immigrants get paid more than the American people ( considering what the employer gets from the client ) and even then we have to hear that we are lowly paid. Speaking from my point of view I know I am paid far more than my american counterparts in the same job profile.

Thank you for the reply. My confusion stemmed from whether i can use my US License as my id for gaining the license. Or whether somehow my A# or I94 number had to be noted on the license/certificate in order to use it at a later point for the green card process.

I think you get AP in out of Country when you are applying.
I'm in same boat as you couple of months of back and i canceled my trip as I got advise from Expert (Attorney) that AP's approved when out of country are not valid.

I believe so....if your LC is approved in August, then your PD is August. It is not qualified under July VB.
Not True. PD is your labor filing date not approval date. I think, you should be able to apply if your PD falls on or before July 2007. Please consult with your attorney. They can check with USCIS through AILA liason. Thanks -

If I-140 has been approved, would it still be fine to apply for transfer from H1-B to F1 status by using form I-539 & university issued I-20 ? How long does it take to transfer status from H1B to F1 ? When can one start school �. Only after I-539 approval or after only applying ?

LUD means basically nothing.
I got FP done, got EAD and got Ap by October 2007. I have 3 LUDs each on mine and my wife's 485 since 01/04/2008.I just called TSC and the IO said no change in the case.

Some where I read that there is no fee for renewal of AP. I am a Jul 07 filer and am not sure about this. Further already applied last year for Advance parole and traveled once. it got expired last month. I am applying for a new one again. So just wanted to know if I need to pay the fees $305.
So my questions are:
Does July 07 filers need to send the cheque for $305 for AP renewal. (My I 485 Reciept Date is Aug 2007)
Should we also include Biometric fee of $80?
And how much time approx is it taking these days for AP?

Since I got electronic refund to my tax rebate and have SSN for all family members, I was expecting Tax refund (stimulus) to be deposited in my bank accoung this week. This was big announcement in the last week.
But I dont see any rebate deposited in my account?
Does any of you have received such rebates?
Is there any contacts numbers where we can approach if we did not received Stimulus rebate al though we filed electronically?

I did received the money on May 2 nd. The date when you receive your money depends on teh last two didigit of your SSN number. PLease check IRS.Gov there is a link to check your sttaus.
