I wonder how many of the PD earlier than 2003, I-485 filed and 2004 PD, I-485 filed and 2005 PD, I-485 filed must have gotten gcs in the july fiasco.

Its nice to do a poll when there is something going on in the immigration area (CIR discussion in senate, a VB screwup etc); thats when traffic to IV is high and we'll get a decent sample size. Hopefully the House will introduce some legislation soon... come on lawmakers, I am waiting with my poll here, do something! :p

Instead of 140K individual green cards change to 140K Family (Primary+ Spouse + Kid(s) ) green cards.
Ability to change jobs after 2 years of 140 approval. (H1 time + LC time + I140 Time + 2 year would easily be 8+ years)

It will be a fallacy to think anything will be done for legal immigrants because Republicans will take over the house. ....
(I am not talking about CIR. I think it is a given that CIR is not going anywhere in the near future). But, I am an optimist!

Well his bills were mainly an attempt to stem H1b visa abuse. Maybe there is too much overkill, but look at his point of view. What would you do if you suddenly felt 10s of 1000s were misusing the H1b visa and entering the country. We also need to talk to them more and convey our position clearly, irrespective of party.
one necessary part of getting GC relief, is to help them in avoiding abuse of work visas, which will ruin our reputation and make the visa abusers semi-illegal.
There are issues like impractical time for H1 transfer that need to be fixed. 1-2 weeks to find a job is impossible most of the time.
I also edited my first post with much better statistics and new things I learnt in this debate, which will help newbies.

I believe Indians want to enjoy life too much after coming to US, the only way to succeed is to work hard and with sincerity . Based on the observation i see very few Indians fully committing themselves to work. not sure why :confused:

you didnt understand my question. I do not have a birth certificate at all. in this case, what document should I use? thats the question.
having a birth certificate is mandatory...this document will prove that you belong to a particular country and fall into that country limit etc...
regarding not having the name on the birth certificate one of the attorney said that USCIS is aware that some countries issue birth certificates without names and so it is okay with the parents name and 2 persons who(around our parents age) can notarize saying that we r our parents child is good enough..

I got Card Production Ordered mail for my EAD yesterday (08/12/08). I e-filed on June, 1st and gave finger prints on June 26th. I hope I'll receive my card by Sep, 24th which is when my current EAD expires.
Hope you guys get approvals soon. Couple of my friends also got approved on 12th.

I am in the same situation. I efiled on 05/14 and sent docs on 05/19. Got FP notice for wife only - that came almost 10 days back. No FP notice for me...My PD is same as urs.. not sure why did they not send FP notice for primary applicant?
Anyone else experienced this? Primary applicant not getting fingerprint notice after EAD e-file?
Did anyone get efiled EAD approval without fingerprints?

They will definitely answer that...for my case they did that twice, once from the West Coast IIO phone center (Immigration Information officer i.e level 2 after getting transferred from contractor level one) and the second time directly from a NSC officer.
They will not answer that. If you have filed via AR-11, you can assume it goes into their system instantly. I was in the same situation. I change my address in November, docs delivered in Dec came at the new address.

Please enlighten me - the one who proposed this idea and for those who supported this - Why do you think the concerned authorities or lawmakers would listen to you (us) and agree to making this happen? I believe Green Card gives us all the priviliges of the US citizenship except the voting rights. Besides the voting right, what are the significant differences between the two (Green Card vs. Citizenship) that would make a good case for asking for a faster citizenship program?
GC is an extension of H1B issued for 10 years and gives freedom to change the employer. Citizenship is different and do not compare GC with Citizenship.

I am also eagerly waiting for it.
All of my friends with PD2006 (jan-Mar) got their GCs and I am still here waiting.
2nd FP on July 29th, Raised a SR on Aug 2nd. So far nothing moved, no LUDs.
Tried congressman's inquiry no response yet.
I dont know if I get GC atleast this time or not :mad:

I am seeing several people contacting Congressman and opening service requests. These guys seem to have become current just this month and they do not have any patience. It is crazy in my opinion. As pointed out earlier there is lot of herd mentality on the forums and if one person posts, everyone else does the same. Some people I have seen on the forum call customer service every day to get case status. I urge people to read and try to understand the process than blindly following what others are doing. Secondly as posted earlier, tracking is also useless and a waste of time. It will not help you get your green card any faster. Have some patience and follow the process. Starting a service request as soon as your date gets current, cannot help you.

Paskal(Puneet) is driving - Sumita is sitting on the passenger seat - we have no idea where we are going. It is 2:00a.m and we are REALLY hungry and tired...

Puneet (after taking several wrong turns) "It is not a Tom - Tom"?
Sumita- " whateverer it is , it gives me directions and I talk to it" (She was spending 4 hrs. driving each day with this TomTom ).

Vandana(in the other car) - "Yeah you can follow us".
