My wife's 485 status changed online as "Card production Ordered".
My GC was approved last year august and waiting for her approval over a year.
I see a pattern of approval for people who got recent soft LUDs. Nola was another person who got SOFT LUD.

We are going to see the trend of the approvals and if next month the dates go back or approvals look irregular, we will contact USCIS.

Above group is formed by people who came here on student or H-1B visa. They are trying to fight for immigration reform for highly skilled immigrants. No one talks about improving immigration situation for employment based highly skilled immigrants. Those very few from the business group who talks about highly skilled, are only interested in increasing H-1B, so that they can get more educated employees. But if you work on H-1 you will know H-1B has several limitation like inability to change employer, spouse can not work etc. So it is very important to get Green Card as early as you can, if you are on student or H-1b visa.
In current situation even if you are wise and quick enough to decide to act quickly for green card, you can not do any thing except sending papers to USCIS ( INS) and paying their fee and wait endless till you get frustrated and depressed. If you are waiting for your green card you already know it. If you have not you will know it soon. Green card is almost invisible for Highly skilled immigrants from India, China, Philippines and several other countries residents, because of backlogs, country quotas, FBI name check delays, Labor Certification delays and backlogs etc. (Some of these words may be new to you. )
Employment based green card for highly skilled immigrant fall in EB-1, EB-2 and Eb-3 categories. Even if you have PhD and university job , you do not qualify for EB-1.
and that is only open category. For Eb-1 you need tenure track appointment at University with several years of experience, around 20 research papers and several international awards etc. Those who apply for Eb-2 or EB-3 or NIW ( national interest Wavier) should not hope for green card in next five years under current situation

This rumor from fragomen's site is creating a havoc everywhere.
These rumors are wreaking havoc on people who are not in a perfect position to control the timing of filing. Many lawyers and many employers will file between 25th and 31st July. And I can accept that. My own HR and lawfirm have made it clear that we will file before 31st July but there is no guarantee that it will be sooner than that and any sooner than that is not neccesary.
Those who are filing on their own can file on July 1st. But those who are depending on lawyers and their own HR, please relax and stop thinking too much.
Never trust the FDBL assholes. They've screwed me multiple times in the past and the irony is that I've paid them for that.

The priority dates could retrogress to their current levels, or further back, as soon as August 1st, but definitely by October 1st, once enough green cards have been issued for the 2007 fiscal year.
2008 quota starts Oct 1. So it does not make sense to retrogress Oct 1.

I applied for H1B and Change of Status in April 2007 and got approval for the same in August 2007.
I have to go to India so, I want to know Can I Travel outside US and re-enter on H4 visa (which is valid till 2009) before October 1st?(Before H1 becomes effective)
I am aware of the fact that you can not travel outside US while your application is pending. But in my case I have the approval. So is it possible?

Thanks. That does help a lot. Once we receive the consolidated 1099 we complete the Schedule D (and D1 if there are more transactions than what can fit on Schedule D) and report the capital gains on the 1040. Correct?

Why do we always equate some educational qualification from some institute to capability? Remember Einstein, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Cornegie, Rockefeller.... list goes on.
Vow, what are you suggesting? Everybody should drop out? People like Einstein, Bill Gates etc are one in a multi-million chance, 99.9% dropouts don't fall into that category. There is a reason people from elite institutes are respected/sought after. Agreed, there may be some totally incompetent inspite of being from a Tier1 school, but whats the percentage of such people? 0.01 %?

Since i keep scourging to see if any new is available about the conference and have not seen the house clerk reporting the reciept of the CIR, i was just asking a question to find out if anyone had any news reading sobers post on blue slip, is some news......
