Wrong....Cubans don't get GC based on EB. They get political asylum because their country is in shambles because of Communism. Is your country in that state too? Everyone's time on GC counts towards Citizenship - that is the whole idea of 5 years wait. By the way the wait is not there for a random reason. The wait is there for you to decide if you really want to become a Citizen. There are millions who just stay on GC for 60-70 years of their lives. It's a choice given. And like someone said - there are more pressing problem for us now than Citizenship. All it gives you is a right to vote and a duty to pay visa fees to visit your home country. :o

This rumor from fragomen's site is creating a havoc everywhere.
These rumors are wreaking havoc on people who are not in a perfect position to control the timing of filing. Many lawyers and many employers will file between 25th and 31st July. And I can accept that. My own HR and lawfirm have made it clear that we will file before 31st July but there is no guarantee that it will be sooner than that and any sooner than that is not neccesary.
Those who are filing on their own can file on July 1st. But those who are depending on lawyers and their own HR, please relax and stop thinking too much.

I have an infopass appt on Aug 19 as I pass my 90 days .Can you please tell us your Infopass experince ? Hopefully this would help me and others in similar situation.
Hey indian111, see my previous posts for the infopass exp. Just to give you a gist, it was a useless appointment. They did not offer me any kind of help. After reading through different forums, I have noticed that there were quite a few CPO emails yesterday for people filed within the same time frame. So I think the infopass appointment did not in any way impact the decision. This is just my assumption.
But I would definitely have the infopass done and then go to the local congressman or senator office to get things resolved.
That was my original plan too. I never expected miracles to happen with the infopass appointment. That would have just given me an additional proof on my part to show that I was diligent in getting the issue resolved
Let me know if you need more details and I will be happy to provide them.

I got the card production ordered email today. I dont know if the infopass appointment that I had yesterday made any difference or not. But for the time being Im very relieved and happy.

Day one to day last of the month
The PDs in the visa bulletin are valid until the next visa bulletin is released or until the end of that month?
I think they are valid from 1 day of a month to the last day of the month but I hear people say that they are valid only until the next month's bulletin is released.
Any inputs here?

AFAIK they dont issue Interim EAD's any more.
I think this practise was stopped in 2007.

I still have 55 or so days till my current EAD expires but I am very concerned now that I will have to stop working on Sep 30. My current employer is a large public school system and I do not think they will allow me to start working on august 25th without new EAD. I am going crazy here... already signed a new contract but dont know what to do...:eek::eek:

We (my family, I and anyone who wants to join us) can go to the office of the Leader of the Senate Majority or the House or to the office of any other committe leader and give them a letter showing numbers and cases, real families that are suffering and requiring them to do something about it. If you agree, I would suggest to prepare a small database with all the cases that we know, then prepare a letter and send it to the Congress leaders.
I think that we would need the following information:
1. Your Contact Information: (Email at least; First, Last Name and Phone Number ideally)
2. State Where You Live
3. Your Employment-Based Category (EB1, EB2, EB3, Other Worker, EB4, EB5)

I think the reason that we do not have many members is that many people go to the website immigration voice and as the access is avaliable to read all posts without a log in and password they read and never want to become a member.
do u think this can be one of the reasons.

Folks,
I am a passive IV listener and this is my first post. I was not expecting my GC to be approved for atleast a year since my priority date was Dec 04 and this is the first time I am current. Also, I applied for I-485 only last year in Sept 2008. So it was unlikely they will look at my case since there were people before me from 2007. However as random as they are, I got the e-mail today that they ordered the production card for me. I am EB-2 and my case was st forward though, no RFE's ever and I have not changed job as I am pretty happy where I am. Anyways, all the best to the folks waiting.
