I don't have words to show my gratitude and appreciation for IV team.
On July 2nd, I was so upset. I did not have a clue of what is going to happen.
Then I came across IV. I joined it as I was joining any forum remotely related to immigration issues.
Logiclife is right, in the beginning it's difficult to realize how important IV is. But as time passed I realized the strength of IV.
When employers, attorney, doctors all were busy making money out of our misery, dedicated core members and others in IV were preparing to take our cause forward and to fight till we got the justice.
Today, And I am glad to be a part of it...
I am with you guys for just 15 days, but I feel empowered.

In cases where the letter attaches a list of corrections or deficiencies in the application, an employer must correct or address these before processing can continue. When a BEC does not receive a response to its 45-day letter, or this response is incomplete in responding to corrections, it closes the case
The process and remedy described below are available to employers who believe a case has been closed due to issues surrounding the receipt of or response to 45-day letters, including:
o Employers who did not receive a 45-day letter after one was issued by a Backlog Elimination Center (BEC); and
o Employers who believe a case was closed after a timely and complete response to a 45-day letter. This includes employers advised of closure through either a case closure letter or a screenshot.

You don't need to be working in the US while the AOS is pending. You just need to have the job when permanent residence is approved, or to have a job in the "same or similar occupational classification."

Can I clarify a point, if someone is laid off whilst their 485 AOS is pending, would they still be 'in status'...and if so, for how long, and at what point do they need to provide 'proof' of a future role.

Well, yes, it was not a fun. I hired somebody and payed around $2000 and the guy send everything without enough documentation and did not write a good essay (actually only halp a page!!). So, of course, they requested additional evidence. Then, I took control and wrote an essay myself (about 10 pages) proving me valuable with supporting evidence materials like awards and local newspapers, programs etc.
Was approved very soon after submitting..
So, get a good attorney (proven to know exactly that kind of stuff) and save yourself TONS of frustrations. Good luck!

1) Can any one tell me that what triggers the Employment RFE. Like in what instances the USCIS sends the RFE for employment verfication.
2) I am not working for the employer who sponsered me for the green card, but i can always get the letter from him stating that the position for which he sponsered me is still available.
If i get the employment RFE will it be OK to send the letter from the employer who sponsored me or do i have to get the letter from my current employer.
Please shed some light on it. !!!!

Calling USCIS is no use since the Cust Serv Rep literally tell you the exact same words that are in the online status. I've been doing Infopass every week now for the past month. Last week they said that the case has been assigned to an officer. I'm going to Mumbai on Feb 3rd and was hoping that my case would be processed before then. Any ideas to get that file picked up by the officer?
