Ugandan-born Charles Wesley Mumbere, a former nurse's aide in Maryland and Pennsylvania, was crowned king of Uganda's 300,000-strong Rwenzururu Kingdom. Mumbere was sent to the US in 1984 as a young man in order to get an education. In 1987, he sought political asylum due to political upheaval in his country. He trained as a nurse's aide in the US and kept his royal status a secret for most of the last quarter century. The green card holder returned to Uganda earlier this month to assume the monarchy for his people. Good luck, King Charles.

mate take it easy. my appli's were sent to NSC on august 1st and i still haven't seen any receipts come through for 485, ead nor AP. Although I have received Ead card and done finger printing so that way I know what my 485 appli # is but no info on the AP

Hi,
I'm on H1 on 8th Year Extension,Got a nice offer from a company, which is not large company, but projects they have are very long term projects I applied for 485 long timeback, but did not applied for my spouse , who is on H4 , applied for H1 which will be validated from 1st Oct'06.Can I switch the company now and start using EAD and apply for my spouse when my PD becomes current , or wait with the current employer till I apply for 485.
Need SUggestion.

Can I ask new company to start new GC Process under Perm and apply for I-140 and once its get approved, Use My EB3 PD with the EB2 Perm Application.
Or
Can I use H1 Transfer and AC-21 option since my 8th year extension is till end of 2009.
Any Suggestions will be Very Helpful

Hi Friends!
This is my first post here, and I take this opportunity to say hello to everyone here. Having browsed through this forum, I can see that this definitely is the finest immigration forum around.
My wife, who is a US citizen, is filing for my immigration tomorrow, and along with it, she is also filing for my Adjustment of Status (And Advance Parole as well as Employment authorization). She would file it at the Chicago dropbox tomorrow. I am on a B2 visa here.
I would like to know how long would it take, or how long does it averagely take these days, for the AP and EAD to be processed in a case like mine.
I saw another thread about processing time of AP, but that was for AP renewal. In my case, it would be a fresh AP and EAD.

I am F-1 Student at a community college. At the same time, I am teaching at the college that I go to, since I have a Master's Degree....as I am allowed to work on campus 20 hours. The school is not willing to file H1b for me. But if there is another short cut....they might help me with that. Is there any way of receiving Green Card without going through the H1b?

Yes. Your dependents can go for a H4 visa stamping provided you (primary h1 beneficiary) were always in status. (which from your post looks like you were)
You will have to send your paystubs, latest h1 approval notice etc - with your family for the
h4 visa interview.

Nina Bernstein, one of the country's best immigration reporters, has a front page story in this morning's Times regarding 30 survivors of the January Haiti earthquake who were airlifted by Marines to the United States and are now sitting in detentions centers in Florida. I am currently on H1 with company A. My I-140 has also been approved and my 1-485 was submitted in July- all through company A. Now company A is planning to close and open new company B. What happens to my I-485 and H1?
Any help gurus ?

I have an approved I-140 and have a pending I-485 filed with NSC, received date 15 Aug 07. NSC I-485 processing date was moved up to Aug 15 a few days ago.
Was wondering if anyone else with similar received dates got an approval or some form of reply from NSC?
